Yellow Tea - Yellow Buds of Huo Shan

Huoshan Yellow Bud is another famous type of yellow tea, which belongs to the category of lightly fermented tea. It is produced in Huoshan County, Anhui Province, China, with major production areas including Dahua Ping, Fuziling, Songjiahe Village, and others. This region belongs to the northern subtropical humid monsoon climate zone, with distinct seasons and an average annual rainfall of about 1,300 millimeters. It experiences minimal extreme heat and cold, with a moderate climate that is highly suitable for tea tree growth. Huoshan Yellow Bud dates back to before the Tang Dynasty and was already listed as a tribute tea during the Ming Dynasty. In Wang Xiangya's "Qun Fang Pu," it is described as "the excellent product of Shoushan and Huoshan Huangya (Yellow Bud)."

The leaves of this tea are tightly rolled, resembling sparrow's tongue, with a golden color and prominent white hairs. After brewing, the liquor has a bright yellow-green color and a rich, mellow taste with a chestnut aroma and a slight sweetness. In December 2006, it was granted the title of National Geographic Indication Protected Product.

Huoshan Yellow Bud contains more than forty aromatic components and is rich in amino acids, tea polyphenols, caffeine, and other substances. It has various health benefits, including reducing cholesterol and aiding in weight loss, protecting teeth and improving eyesight, enhancing gastrointestinal function, and boosting the immune system. However, it is important to avoid consuming it on an empty stomach or before bedtime to prevent any negative effects on health.
